Arun Subramanian Named a Rising Star by the New York Law Journal

New York Law Journal has named Susman Godfrey’s Arun Subramanian a “Rising Star” in its 2018 list.  The publication recognizes “the region’s most promising lawyers who are no older than 40 by the date of submission”. This year’s competition was competitive, with only 28 attorneys in New York selected after a rigorous selection process judged by an outside panel of experts.

Subramanian has previously been recognized on Benchmark Litigation’sUnder 40 Hot List” in 2017 and by Chambers U.S. as an “Up & Coming” Attorney in General Commercial Litigation 2016 and 2017. Subramanian joined the firm after clerking for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and since then has racked up a long list of wins in high-stakes trial and appellate cases.

Some of these landmark wins include:

  • Ongoing success in the national high stakes matter, In re: Libor-based Financial Instruments Antitrust Litigation, where Arun has helped to secure over half a billion dollars in settlements and recently won class certification for the OTC plaintiffs he represents on their antitrust claims.
  • Securing a complete jury victory in Tyler, Texas, on behalf of client Globus Medical, whom he served as co-lead counsel to, in a patent infringement case brought by Flex-u-spine, Inc., a local Tyler company.
  • Success in a landmark False Claims Act lawsuit against the Swiss drug manufacturer, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, which settled for over $450 million – the highest award ever given in a whistleblower suit of this nature.

The winners will be recognized in the New York Law Journal’s upcoming Professional Excellence magazine and honored in October at the New York Legal Awards.
