Kalpana Srinivasan Included on The National Law Journal’s List of Outstanding Women Lawyers

LOS ANGELES (May 4th, 2015) — Kalpana Srinivasan, a partner in Susman Godfrey’s Los Angeles office, has been named one of the Outstanding Women Lawyers by The National Law Journal. Srinivasan is one of just 75 female attorneys who were included on this prestigious list.

The publication highlighted Srinivasan’s experience facing off against big-name companies in the patent arena as well handling employment, breach of contract and antitrust cases. As noted by NLJ, Srinivasan has generated about $1 billion in recoveries for both defendants and plaintiffs and has spent more than 100 days at trial in recent years. In making selections, NLJ editors evaluated hundreds of nominations submitted from around the country by law firms, corporations, nonprofit organizations and law schools. Among the factors considered in selecting winners were development of successful practices, (especially new areas of law or practices typically dominated by men), attainment of professional leadership roles, performance in significant cases, including those that resulted in key, often precedent-setting rulings, victories at trial and significant settlements, representation of the underserved or indigent and demonstrated efforts to improve diversity in the profession.

When asked about Srinivasan, firm founder Stephen Susman said the following: “Kalpana is among the best young trial lawyers, male or female, in the country. She’s brilliant, strategic and easy to get along with. Judges and jurors alike love her.”

This is not the first time Srinivasan has been recognized for her successes. Kalpana was recognized in earlier this year as a powerbroker by Law 360. In addition she was named by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal as one of California’s top 20 lawyers under the age of 40. Named by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) as one of the “Best Lawyers Under 40”, Mrs. Srinivasan was also recognized as a Rising Star by California Law & Politics magazine – an honor awarded to the top 2.5% of lawyers in the Southern California area.
