Susman Godfrey Named to ‘Honor Roll of Most Feared Law Firms’ in 2016 BTI Litigation Consulting Survey – Susman Godfrey L.L.P.

HOUSTON (September 21, 2015)—Susman Godfrey LLP has been named to the “Honor Roll of Most Feared Law Firms” in BTI Consulting’s “Litigation Outlook 2014: Changes, Trends and Opportunities for Law Firms.”

BTI conducts over 300 interviews with heads of litigation, general counsel and other key legal decision makers for its annual study of the litigation market. The company combines an analysis of client spending, goals, priorities and needs with direct feedback from clients on more than 160 individual law firms.

Among the report’s key findings: case resolution has become a path to more work – clients are looking to settle earlier and faster. The trend is the basis of firm founder Steve Susman’s soon-to-be launched Civil Jury Project at the New York University School of Law.

“The problem of the diminishing jury trial is not going away,” said Susman. “Until we understand what happened, we can’t figure out a way to change it.”

The Civil Jury Project, headed by Susman as Executive Director, will investigate the impact of lower jury trial rates on the public’s constitutional right to a jury trial. The project will engage a variety of legal professionals and policy makers to determine whether the right is even worth preserving.

“We cannot hope to change a system in distress without the help of the American people pushing lawmakers to enforce their constitutional right to a jury trial,” Susman said.
