Susman Godfrey Partner Barry Barnett Named a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers

Dallas (March 12, 2014)—Susman Godfrey attorney Barry Barnett has been inducted as a fellow into the American College of Trial Lawyers.

A partner in Susman Godfrey’s Dallas office, Barnett was selected for induction into the highly prestigious organization in recognition of his three decades of courtroom experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in scores of trials.

The American College of Trial Lawyers recognizes the best courtroom attorneys in the United States and Canada. The college’s fellows are selected by invitation only; membership is limited to the top 1 percent of lawyers in any given state or province, and attorneys must possess a minimum of 15 years of trial experience to be considered for fellowship.

Barnett has spent his entire legal career as a top trial attorney at Susman Godfrey, where his clients have included such well-known companies as Texas Instruments, Cisco Systems, Neiman Marcus and Kohlberg, Kravis, Roberts & Company. Dividing his time between Susman Godfrey’s Dallas and New York offices, Barnett has extensive experience in a wide range of litigation areas – everything from arbitration and antitrust to class action lawsuits and securities fraud. He is also the author of the law blog Blawgletter.

A graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School, Barnett served as a federal law clerk for the Honorable Jerre S. Williams in the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit before joining Susman Godfrey.
