Overview
Christina Dieckmann is a seasoned litigator at Susman Godfrey, where she brings years of courtroom experience to bear for her clients. Her practice is defined by a deep commitment to justice and a track record of success in high-stakes cases, bringing a unique perspective shaped by rigorous trial experience in criminal defense to the realm of commercial and media-related disputes.
Prior to joining Susman Godfrey, Christina spent more than ten years as a public defender in Brooklyn, New York. In this role, she was a tireless advocate for her clients in the high-stakes practice of one of the nation’s busiest criminal courts, taking numerous complex cases to jury trial and securing favorable outcomes for hundreds of individuals at every stage of the criminal legal process, including acquittals, dismissals, and reduced sentences at every procedural stage—from pre-indictment negotiations to the eve of trial. Her work in the forensic unit, where she specialized in cases involving complex DNA evidence, firearm and toolmark analysis, and eyewitness misidentification, honed her skills in dissecting intricate evidence and crafting compelling narratives. This background has equipped Christina with a unique and invaluable perspective that she now applies to her civil litigation practice.
At Susman Godfrey, Christina has brought her skills and passion to bear in numerous areas of commercial and class action litigation, including defamation, qui tam, contract disputes, and copyright, among others. Christina was an integral part of the Susman Godfrey team that secured a $787.5 million settlement for Dominion Voting Systems in its landmark defamation lawsuit against Fox News, one of the largest and most significant defamation settlements in U.S. history.
Christina earned her Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School, where she was recognized as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and served as the Managing Editor of the Columbia Human Rights Law Review. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Sarah Lawrence College
