Overview
Daniel Simon joined Susman Godfrey after clerkships with Judge Michael Park on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, Judge Thomas Kirsch on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and Judge James Wesley Hendrix on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Dan received his law degree with honors from the University of Chicago Law School. During law school, he served as the Executive Articles Editor of the University of Chicago Legal Forum, competed in moot court, and served in various advisory roles to the school’s administration. He interned for the Department of Justice’s Criminal Appellate Section in Washington, D.C. and the United States Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn.
Before law school, Dan worked as the appellate paralegal for the Washington, D.C. office of an international law firm. He received his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Chicago, where he studied political science and American history, focusing on the legal history of the South.
