Overview
Emily Portuguese joined Susman Godfrey after clerking for Judge Thomas Ambro of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and Judge Valerie Caproni of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Before clerking, she litigated at another leading firm.
Emily graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she served as a Senior Editor on the Law Review. She also participated in the Federal Appellate Externship and successfully argued an appeal on behalf of a pro bono client before the Third Circuit. She received her undergraduate degree summa cum laude from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
