Overview
George El-Khoury represents plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes litigation around the nation. George has litigated many practice areas, including patent, defamation, breach of contract, oil and gas, and qui tam disputes. In these cases, George has taken and defended depositions, argued motions, and won appeals.
Most recently, George represented a real estate focused video company, WellcomeMat, LLC, in a patent dispute against Aylo, formerly known as MindGeek. George took and defended key depositions, wrote critical briefs, and argued discovery, evidentiary, and claim construction disputes. George was integral in fending off Aylo’s mandamus petition seeking to stay trial less than a month before jury selection. After the Federal Circuit denied Aylo’s petition, the parties reached a confidential settlement.
George also represented Dominion Voting Systems against Newsmax in the Superior Court of Delaware. In that case, George took depositions, briefed case dispositive issues, and argued evidentiary motions. The matter ended in a $67 million settlement for Dominion.
George now represents an inventor’s company in patent litigation concerning mechanical closure devices, which were invented in the wake of Superstorm Sandy to prevent future water deluges from damaging critical infrastructure to the tune of billions of dollars.
Before joining Susman Godfrey, George clerked for Judge Gerard E. Lynch of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, Judge Esther Salas of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and Judge Stephen H. Glickman of the D.C. Court of Appeals.
George graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from Cornell Law School, where he served as an Executive Bench Editor of the Moot Court Board and a Notes Editor of the International Law Journal. George was active in Cornell’s First Amendment Clinic, helping draft amici curiae briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on FOIA Exemptions 4 and 7(C). George graduated cum laude from Goucher College, where he majored in economics, minored in political science, and played Division III soccer.
