Overview
Jo Un (“Jo”) joined Susman Godfrey after clerking for Judge John B. Owens on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Chief Judge Kimberly J. Mueller on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. She earned a JD/LLM in International and Comparative Law from Duke University School of Law. At Duke, Jo was the co-president of the Human Rights Law Society, worked as a research assistant for Professor Laurence R. Helfer, and participated in both the Children’s Law Clinic and the International Human Rights Clinic as a student attorney.
Before law school, Jo earned a master’s degree in education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and taught English in Thailand. Prior to that, she studied political science at UC Berkeley and graduated with high distinction.
