Overview
Lea joined Susman Godfrey after clerking for Judge William Q. Hayes of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. Lea earned her J.D. with honors from the University of Chicago Law School. During law school, she was a member of the University of Chicago Law Review, served as chapter director of the International Refugee Assistance Project, and held various advisory roles to the law school’s administration. In recognition of her dedication to advancing the rights of underserved populations—including advocacy for women’s rights, racial justice, and disability rights—Lea was awarded the Elle D’Amore Angel Scholarship in her second year of law school.
Before law school, Lea worked as an executive assistant at a tenant’s rights law firm in Los Angeles. Lea completed her undergraduate education summa cum laude at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she studied political science and professional writing and received the College Honors distinction.
