Overview
Sarah Almond Pike joined Susman Godfrey after clerking for Judge M. Margaret McKeown on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and for then‑Chief Judge Dana M. Sabraw of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. Those experiences inform Sarah’s work in the federal courts and her approach to complex litigation.
Sarah earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (Order of the Coif), where she served as an articles editor of the California Law Review and a teaching assistant in Legal Research and Writing. Sarah began her legal career as a Berkeley Law Public Interest Fellow, where she partnered with non profits to launch a virtual workers’ rights clinic at the height of the COVID 19 pandemic, represent individual workers, and file impact litigation. She later practiced at a boutique plaintiff side firm, guiding her clients through litigation and mediation to successful outcomes. Prior to law school, Sarah served as Editor in Chief of a small educational publishing group..
Sarah is an active member of the legal community. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Federal Bar Association, San Diego Chapter; judged mock trial competitions; and volunteered pro bono to assist survivors of domestic violence in obtaining restraining orders. In 2025, Sarah received the Justice in Action award from the South Asian Bar Association–San Diego for contributions to the Afghan Outreach Project.
