Overview
As a staff attorney, Whitney Wester supports clients in active litigation through discovery management and general litigation assistance. Prior to joining Susman Godfrey, Whitney gained valuable civil litigation experience in a variety of areas of law including complex civil defense litigation, large multi-district litigation and class action lawsuits, internal investigations, cause and origin investigations, data privacy regulation compliance and litigation, and catastrophic personal injury cases. Before focusing on civil litigation, Whitney was a felony prosecutor for the State of Texas, trying over fifty cases to jury verdict. She was also a regular guest speaker at various legal education seminars for law enforcement officials, victims’ advocates, and other attorneys.
A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Houston Law Center, Whitney has the distinction of being one of the law school’s top advocates receiving not only the law school’s recognition as the top trial lawyer in her graduating class but also matriculated having won both of her law school’s mock trial and moot court competitions, including the award of Best Speaker. She has also received awards from the American Bar Association as the regional champion for its arbitration competitions in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012. Whitney additionally had the honor of being inducted into the Order of the Coif, Order of the Barristers, and Order of the Barons, while also participating on the Board of Advocates, the UH mock trial and moot court teams, the Innocence Project Clinic, and the Criminal Practice Clinic.
