Kalpana Srinivasan Named a Top IP Lawyer in California by the Daily Journal for Third Consecutive Year

Kalpana Srinivasan, has been named by the Daily Journal as a 2021 Top Intellectual Property Lawyer in California. This is her third consecutive year and fourth total receiving this recognition.

Srinivasan litigates intellectual property cases involving state-of-the-art technology shaping the landscape of IP law. Her robust docket of IP matters is diverse, she tries and wins cases involving patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and copyright litigation.

Most recently Srinivasan served as lead counsel to Preservation Technologies, pursuing a portfolio of patents developed at the USC Shoah Foundation to catalog videos of Holocaust survivors against MindGeek and its affiliated porn sites for infringement. Srinivasan secured a settlement in February of this year.

Srinivasan is also representing 1960’s rockers Flo and Eddie, founders of the Turtles, along with a class of owners of pre-1972 sound recordings for copyright violations by SiriusXM and Pandora. The case against SiriusXM was settled for a deal valued at up to $73 million. The case against Pandora is ongoing–Srinivasan recently argued the appeal of the underlying issue in the SiriusXM cases – the existence of a right to perform sound recordings under California law – before the Ninth Circuit in February 2021.
