HOUSTON—Stephen Susman was named “Regional Litigator of the Year – South” at the annual Benchmark Litigation Awards, presented January 29 at the JW Marriott Essex House in New York.
Susman is the founder of Susman Godfrey LLP, which was also nominated in the “State Firm – Texas” category.
The Benchmark Litigation Awards recognize the nation’s top legal practitioners within the litigation community. In addition to honoring individual attorneys, the ceremony recognized law firms and in-house counsel teams that played a significant role in the industry over the past year.
A Houston native, Susman is recognized as one of the nation’s most successful plaintiff’s attorneys. Named one of America’s Top 10 litigators by The National Law Journal (2006), he has been honored twice as Litigator of the Year in International Commercial Litigation’s worldwide annual poll of lawyers. Susman is also among a highly select group of attorneys to have been included in The Best Lawyers in America for 25 years.
