Susman Godfrey Attorney Mark Wawro Inducted Into Litigation Counsel Of America

Newport Beach — Houston business litigator Mark L. D. Wawro of Susman Godfrey LLP was formally inducted into the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA) at its 2013 Spring Conference & Induction of Fellows held May 2 in Newport Beach, California. LCA is a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellowship in the LCA is highly selective and by invitation only.

Wawro has produced an outstanding string of trial victories throughout his more than three decades in practice. Practicing with the firm since 1980, he has won damage awards for plaintiffs totaling more than $790 million, and millions more by settlements. Wawro has been just as successful representing defendants.

Wawro’s trial achievements have been widely recognized. The American Lawyer called two of his victories “impressive” and “well-litigated.” The Texas Lawyer called his $536.2 million jury verdict “groundbreaking.” Wawro’s cases have been profiled in the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The National Law Journal, and USA Today.

LCA fellows are selected based upon excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation. The LCA is aggressively diverse in its composition. Established as a trial and appellate lawyer honorary society reflecting the American bar in the twenty-first century, the LCA represents the best in law among its membership.
