HOUSTON, SEATTLE & LOS ANGELES (April 1, 2015) — Susman Godfrey L.L.P. has selected three first-year law students as its 2015 1L Summer Women and Minority Trial Lawyer Fellows.
Susman Godfrey is committed to sustaining diverse trial teams of excellent lawyers. For the past four years, the firm has offered the fellowship to first-year law students who are women, minorities, LGBTQ, or members of other groups underrepresented in today’s legal profession. The firm seeks diverse applicants who have performed extremely well in their first semester of law school, have demonstrated excellence in their academic credentials, and are interested in learning firsthand about trial work at one of the nation’s preeminent litigation boutiques.
Susman Godfrey congratulates this summer’s Fellows:
- Pratik K. Ghosh, a Dean’s Scholar at Vanderbilt University Law School, will be spending time in the firm’s Houston office. Pratik earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience with honors from the University of Michigan and is proficient in Hindi and Bengali.
- Kaleigh Boyd, who is attending the University of Washington School of Law on a scholarship, will be spending time in the firm’s Seattle office. Kaleigh earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and communication magna cum laude from the University of Washington, where she was an accomplished mock trial competitor.
- Robin Gray, a Dean’s Award recipient attending the UC Irvine School of Law and a member of the school’s trial advocacy club, will be spending time in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Robin earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from UC Berkeley, where she was a member of the competitive policy debate team. Prior to law school, Robin was an academic coordinator and mentor with AmeriCorps.
Each Fellow spends two weeks doing substantive legal work with the firm and getting exposure to the firm’s trial practice. In addition, each Fellow receives $5,000 upon completion of the program.
