Susman Godfrey Partner Marc Seltzer named a “Competition MVP” by Law360

Susman Godfrey partner Marc Seltzer has been named by Law360 as a 2017 “Competition MVP.” Seltzer, head of Susman Godfrey’s Los Angeles office, was one of just 5 attorneys in the nation selected by Law360 for this prestigious honor.

Named an “MVP” for his industry leading antitrust work, Seltzer is recognized in large part for taking on the world’s largest animation companies, including Disney, Pixar, Lucasfilm Ltd., Dreamworks and Sony, on behalf of animation employees in In re: Animators Workers Antitrust Litigation. Seltzer was appointed as co-lead counsel to represent the plaintiffs in this class action where over $168 million in settlements were secured to resolve allegations that defendants entered into a “gentlemen’s agreement” not to poach one another’s employees.

This type of win is nothing new for Seltzer, who has helped secure multi-million dollar settlements with powerful corporations such as Toyota, Korean Airlines, Petroleum Development Corporation and international automotive  part manufacturers in In Re: Automotive Parts Antitrust Litigation, the last of which where nearly a billion dollars in settlements have already been obtained.

This recognition comes on the heels of Seltzer being named earlier this year a “Giant Slayer” by The Recorder.  Seltzer has been previously recognized by Law360 as an MVP, having been named a “Class Action MVP” in 2014.  Seltzer was also called a “Top Plaintiff’s Lawyer” by the Los Angeles Daily Journal in 2016, and was a driving force behind Susman Godfrey’s recognition as “Class Action Group of the Year” by Law360 in early 2017.
