Associate Dustin Fire has been named the winner of the Most Promising Newcomer award at the 2026 New York Law Journal Legal Awards. The award recognizes an early-career attorney who has made an outsized impact on the legal profession. Fire has already built a remarkable record in the courtroom, taking on significant responsibilities in high-stakes trials during her first years at Susman Godfrey.
As a second-year associate, Fire recently represented dozens of survivors of the devastating 2020 Oregon Labor Day wildfires in litigation against utility company PacifiCorp. Across three damages trials, she delivered an opening statement, examined 15 witnesses and helped secure jury verdicts totaling more than $410 million—including a $305 million verdict, the largest damages award against PacifiCorp to date in the ongoing litigation.
