Head of Susman Godfrey’s New York Office, Bill Carmody, has been invited by Law360 to serve on their 2021 Trials Advisory Board. This is the third year in a row Carmody is serving on this board, having served as a trusted advisor to Law360 in 2019 and 2020. The purpose of the editorial advisory board is to, “get feedback on Law360’s coverage and gain insight from experts in the field on how best to shape future coverage.”
Bill is one of America’s most sought-after trial lawyers. He has obtained verdicts and settlements in the billions. Most recently he represented WeWork founder, Adam Neumann, in his almost $1 Billion claim against SoftBank relating to SoftBank taking control of WeWork. In 2020 Bill represented California’s largest political subdivisions claiming to be overcharged by the “Big 3″ wireless carriers and secured settlements totaling $175 Million; filed a massive class action against Google for misrepresenting its privacy settings when users use “Incognito Mode” in their web browser; secured a $40.5 million settlement to resolve a lawsuit based on allegations of fraud made by former Apria Healthcare Group; and, together with the U.S. Government, filed a multi-billion-dollar qui tam case against United Healthcare over claims of fraudulent behavior.
