Kalpana Srinivasan, has been named by the Daily Journal as a 2020 Top Intellectual Property Lawyer in California. This is her second consecutive year receiving this recognition and third time in total.
Srinivasan litigates cutting-edge intellectual property disputes that are changing the shape of the legal landscape across copyright, patent and trade secret law. She is currently representing Sol IP in asserting its extensive standard essential telecom patent portfolio as well as representing Intellectual Pixels Limited in a patent infringement action involving online streaming patents.
Srinivasan was selected by the court to represented plaintiffs in what some are calling, “the biggest class action in history,” In re: Qualcomm Antitrust Litigation. Last year, Srinivasan obtained certification for a class of hundreds of millions of consumers against Qualcomm for its anticompetitive practices in the market for modem chips and licensing of its cellular patents (currently on appeal).
In 2018, Srinivasan secured the fourth largest jury verdict of the year (and the highest IP jury verdict of the year) in a trade secrets, fraud and breach of contract suit –at $706.2 million for her client HouseCanary. In 2019, a judge confirmed the jury award in full and allowed a judgment of more than $740 million to stand. Last month, she argued the appeal on behalf of her client.
