LOS ANGELES (Sept. 15, 2014)—Susman Godfrey attorney Kalpana Srinivasan has been named to the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s (NAPABA) “Best Lawyers Under 40” list.
The annual list honors “individuals in the Asian Pacific American (APA) legal community who are under the age of 40 and have achieved prominence and distinction in their respective fields while demonstrating a strong commitment to the community at relatively early stages in their careers.”
NAPABA is the national association of APA attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students, which represents the interests of over 40,000 attorneys and approximately 70 national, state, and local bar associations.
Srinivasan has been active in the APA legal community throughout her career. She currently acts as the Litigation Chair of the South Asian Bar Association of North America, for which she previously sat on the national executive committee. She also serves on the board of the Western Justice Center, and previously served as an executive committee board member for the North American South Asian Bar Association and on the executive board of the South Asian Bar Association of Southern California.
A partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office since 2009 – just four years after joining the firm – Srinivasan has been recognized for her work representing both plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes, and often high-profile, cases. She’s battled industry giants such as Apple, Sony, Microsoft and the National Hockey League. In recent years, she’s litigated high-profile patent cases involving Xbox, Google and the iPhone.
A graduate of Yale University and Stanford Law School, Srinivasan clerked for Judge Raymond C. Fisher on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit before joining Susman Godfrey. She was one of the original co-chairs of the firm’s diversity committee, on which she continues to serve.
