Savoy Magazine Includes Chanler Langham in its “2018 Most Influential Black Lawyers”

Savoy Magazine has named Houston Partner Chanler Langham to its “2018 Most Influential Black Lawyers” list.   This listing showcases African-American men and women who have been recognized for “their legal leadership and expertise in national and global-leading corporations.”

The full listing is comprised of the “best of the best” of Black lawyers that are partners within leading national law firms, corporate and general counsel from Fortune 1000 corporations. The issue focuses on these top lawyers, calling them “visionaries, leaders and advocates  within the legal profession who are widely recognized for their professionalism, protection of rights and community service.”

A perfect fit for this list, Langham has scored a number of significant victories in the past few years including winning a $25 million verdict in June 2018 for Steven Lamar in a high-profile IP case against Beats by Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine, winning an April 2017 arbitration for Personalized Media Communications against TiVo,  helping to secure over a billion dollars for plaintiffs in the widely covered In Re: Auto Parts Antitrust Litigation, and winning a jury trial on behalf of client, Wal-Mart, in a case having to do with defective gasoline containers.

Outside of court, Mr. Langham serves as the Vice Chair of the Trial Practice Committee for the American Bar Association’s Antitrust section, and the Co-Chair of the Houston Bar Association’s Communities in the Schools Committee.

This announcement comes on the heels of Susman Godfrey being included on Law360’s 2018 list of Best Law Firms for Minority Attorneys (subscription required).
