Of Counsel

Bryce Barcelo joined Susman Godfrey to provide intellectual property counsel to both clients and colleagues after graduating from the University of Houston Law Center. During his time at Susman Godfrey Barcelo has been involved in some of the firm’s most significant IP cases, trying cutting-edge cases and securing landmark wins.

In Title Source Inc. v. HouseCanary Inc, Barcelo and a team from Susman Godfrey secured a landmark jury verdict of $706.2 million for real estate analytics company, HouseCanary, in a misappropriation of trade secret, fraud and breach of contract case against Title Source Inc.  At the conclusion of the seven-week trial, a 12-person jury found unanimously in favor of HouseCanary. This case was covered by Law360the Wall Street JournalBloomberg and Texas Lawyer. Read more about it here.

In the past year Barcelo has also represented Vaporsteam in the first-ever patent litigation against Snapchat subsidiary, Snap, Inc.  A multi-million-dollar confidential settlement was reached just before trial.

In Sol IP, LLC v. AT&T Mobility LLC et al, Barcelo served as counsel to Sol IP in an action asserting key LTE and Wifi patents against the major telecommunications carriers Sprint, AT&T and Verizon.  The case resolved against all defendants the month before trial.

Prior to receiving his legal education, Barcelo worked as an electrical engineer with Boeing in the Central California area on the first West Coast Delta IV Heavy mission.
