Corey Lipschutz

Corey Lipschutz’s practice focuses on supporting universities, research institutes, and technology companies navigate disputes, often with complex technical aspects, including patent infringement, patent licensing, and commercial disputes. Corey’s experience spans across a diverse breadth of technologies, including semiconductor fabrication, wireless communications, implantable medical devices, prenatal diagnostic testing, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), and online gaming technology. Corey has represented plaintiffs and defendants in district courts nationwide, before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, in Texas and New Mexico state courts, in arbitration proceedings, and coordinates with local counsel regarding foreign co-pending proceedings.

Corey recently secured a favorable ruling on behalf of power systems manufacturer, Vicor, before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) banning the importation of power modules and unlicensed computing systems found to infringe Vicor’s patents. Read more.

Prior to joining Susman Godfrey, Corey worked for a Dallas patent litigation boutique and served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Hon. John D. Love of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, one of the most active patent litigation dockets in the country.

Corey completed his undergraduate education at Rhodes College, where he competed with Rhodes College’s nationally ranked mock trial team. During undergraduate, Corey externed at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and in the research and development division for a global pharmaceutical company. Corey earned his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law. During law school, Corey served as a Lead Articles Editor for the Washington and Lee Law Review, led Washington and Lee’s mock trial program as Mock Trial Chair on the Moot Court Executive Board, and externed in the Office of Technology Management for a major research university.
