Overview
Julian Schneider represents plaintiffs in cutting-edge matters spanning a broad spectrum of complex civil disputes, including breach of contract, fraud, negligence, class actions, unfair competition, public enforcement actions, constitutional claims, and civil rights violations. He advocates for a diverse clientele—individuals, companies, and governmental entities—bringing strategic rigor and courtroom focus to every engagement.
Julian plays a central role in his cases from inception through resolution, having investigated new actions, spearheaded discovery, taken and defended key depositions, drafted dispositive motions, and argued before the court.
LANDMARK LITIGATION
Partnering with the Los Angeles City Attorney, Julian and a Susman Godfrey team have filed a historic, landmark lawsuit on behalf of the People of the State of California against online crypto-based sweepstakes casino, Stake.us, its owners, Kick Streaming, and its partners for allegedly operating or aiding an illegal gambling enterprise in California. The complaint, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeks to recover all funds lost by Californians on the Stake.us platform, penalties to deter future conduct, and an injunction to protect Californians from further wrongful conduct. Julian is also representing industrial hemp grower, Apothio, in its lawsuit against Kern County, Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and multiple state and county officers for their alleged unlawful and unconstitutional destruction of over 500 acres of Apothio’s hemp crops in October 2019. Julian has managed all aspects of fact and expert discovery, taken and defended fact and expert depositions, authored numerous motions and other briefs, and argued in court.
Julian serves as counsel to investors and service providers in their breach of contract and fraud suit against a multi-billion-dollar start-up company for refusing to honor contractual stock options, and as counsel for plaintiffs in a putative class action that seeks to recover all unlawfully obtained funds from an alleged illegal gambling enterprise.
