Partnering with the Los Angeles City Attorney, Susman Godfrey partners Bryan Caforio and Krysta Pachman, and associate Julian Schneider, have filed a “historic,” “landmark,” and “revolutionary” lawsuit on behalf of the People of the State of California against online crypto-based sweepstakes casino, Stake.us, its owners, Kick Streaming, and its partners for allegedly operating or aiding an illegal gambling enterprise in California.
The complaint, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on August 28, 2025, seeks to recover all funds lost by Californians on the Stake.us platform, penalties to deter future conduct, and an injunction to protect Californians from further wrongful conduct.
The suit states: “[The] defendants’ misconduct has inflicted and continues to inflict severe harm on Californians, especially individuals prone to gambling addiction and consumers targeted by false and misleading advertising.”
