Overview
Ravi Bhalla represents plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state court across the nation. He has handled a variety of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, breaches of fiduciary duty, theft and infringement of intellectual property, and large-scale class actions.
Ravi takes an active role in every matter he litigates. He has argued major motions to trial courts and an appeal in the Eleventh Circuit (listen here). Through all stages of litigation, he is frequently the principal drafter of briefing submitted to the court. He has also taken and defended dozens of depositions, often eliciting critical testimony.
In addition to his full docket, Ravi teaches as an Adjunct Professor at NYU’s Stern School of Business. Ravi also coaches Benjamin Cardozo High School’s moot court team in the annual NYC MENTOR Moot Court Competition and was selected for, and serves on, the Third Circuit Pro Bono Panel.
BACKGROUND
Ravi joined Susman Godfrey after clerking for Judge Krause on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University and received his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he was the Executive Managing Editor of the Yale Journal on Regulation, a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Economics, and the band leader for the Yale Law Revue.
Prior to law school, Ravi worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
