Managing Partner Kalpana Srinivasan Recognized as a Top Trial Lawyer and One of the Top 250 Women in IP by Managing IP – IP Stars

Susman Godfrey Co-Managing Partner Kalpana Srinivasan has been recognized by Managing IP – IP Stars as one of the 14 Top Trial Lawyers in the United States and one of the Top 250 Women in IP internationally for 2021. Managing IP also named her a Patent Star.

Srinivasan litigates complex intellectual property cases involving state-of-the-art technology that are shaping the landscape of IP law. Among her many high-profile cases, in the last year, Srinivasan handled IP matters including representing Sol IP in an action asserting key standard essential LTE and Wifi patents against Sprint, AT&T and Verizon, securing a settlement shortly before trial; pursuing a portfolio of patents developed at the USC Shoah Foundation to catalog videos of Holocaust survivors against MindGeek and its affiliated porn sites for streaming activity implementing the patents’ technology; and arguing twos major appeals: one impacting the rights of trade secret holders on behalf of her client HouseCanary in Texas state court (in a case she tried to unanimous $706.2 million jury verdict in the trial court) and another before the Ninth Circuit on copyright protection for owners of pre-1972 sound recordings (in a case she litigated until the eve of trial when the parties agreed to a resolution of the key issue).
