Susman Godfrey has been named the Commercial Litigation Firm of the Year by Benchmark Litigation. The firm was also named Texas Firm of the Year for the second year in a row. The news was announced at the 2023 USA Legal Awards which took place in New York on March 15th.

Benchmark Litigation recognized Susman Godfrey for a year in which the firm scored major wins across practice areas and industries. This includes a major win for Vitol in $4 billion litigation with Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, a $35 million settlement with streaming service, Akazoo, over fraud charges, a $92 million settlement for clients in litigation against TikTok, a $92.5 million deal for a class of insurance policy holders in contract litigation against Voya Retirement Insurance and Annuity Company, a favorable summary judgment ruling in favor of Saba Capital, and a major defense-side win for Winthrop Resources Corporation against healthcare company Prospect ECHN. During the evaluation period the firm also filed groundbreaking matters including a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News and a widely covered privacy lawsuit against PornHub parent company, MindGeek.
