One Firm, Two IP Attorneys of the Year: Susman Godfrey Partners Honored in California and Texas

Two Susman Godfrey partners have earned the title of Intellectual Property Attorney of the Year in 2026. Rohit Nath received the honor at The Recorder’s California Legal Awards, while Joe Grinstein won at Texas Lawyer’s Texas Legal Awards. The dual recognition from ALM publications underscores the depth of Susman Godfrey’s IP litigation talent and its success across copyright, patent, and trade secret disputes.

Los Angeles-based Nath co-led the firm’s team that secured a $1.5 billion settlement in Bartz v. Anthropic. This year he was also tapped by the Court to serve as co-lead counsel to plaintiffs in a proposed class action against Apple for allegedly using pirated books to train its artificial intelligence models.

Houston-based Grinstein helped secure a $175 million jury verdict for HouseCanary in trade secret litigation against Amrock and successfully defended Atlas Global Technologies’ $37.5 million patent infringement verdict before the Federal Circuit. His practice spans complex patent, trade secret, and technology disputes nationwide.
