Susman Godfrey partner Ophelia Camiña has been honored with the La Luz Award by the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association as part of its Noche de Luz Awards. The La Luz Award is the highest honor bestowed by the DHBA, recognizing a lifetime of service and achievement.
A nationally recognized trial lawyer and longtime leader in the Dallas legal community, Camiña has built a distinguished career handling complex commercial and bet-the-company litigation while also championing mentorship and leadership opportunities for women and Hispanic lawyers.
Camiña previously made history in 2023 when she was named Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Dallas Bar Association, becoming the first Hispanic lawyer and only the eighth woman to receive the honor. She has also been recognized by Lawdragon, Texas Super Lawyers, and the Dallas Bar Association, which has named her a “Living Legend.”
Beyond her courtroom work, Camiña co-founded and chairs the Dallas Bar Association’s Women Empowered to Lead and founded ACT III, initiatives focused on advancing networking, mentorship, and leadership opportunities for women lawyers.
