Jesse-Justin Cuevas Interviewed on Above the Law Podcast, The Jabot

Partner Jesse-Justin Cuevas was interviewed by Kathryn Rubino on Above the Law’s podcast, The Jabot, in an episode titled What it Really Takes to be on the Path to Biglaw Partnership.

In her conversation with Kathryn, Jesse-Justin discusses why she went to law school, the importance of focusing on being the best associate she could be, the fallacy behind “having it all,” her genuine love of trial work and how it led to her becoming partner, and how she tries to maintain a balance between her work and personal life. Jesse-Justin also discusses the value of mentorship and the role her own mentors have played in navigating her career path.

The Jabot podcast is an offshoot of the Above the Law legal blog that is focused on the challenges that women, people of color, LGBTQIA, and other diverse populations face in the legal industry. The name comes from Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the jabot (decorative collar) she wore when delivering dissents from the bench.
