Susman Godfrey partner Hunter Vance has been named a 2026 Law360 Rising Star in Construction, recognizing him among the nation’s leading lawyers under 40 for his work on major construction disputes.
In its profile of Vance, Law360 highlights his growing reputation for handling complex, high-stakes construction litigation, including his work representing construction firm Zachry in litigation arising from the more than $10 billion Golden Pass LNG Terminal project in Texas.
Vance has built a significant construction litigation practice representing clients on both sides of major disputes. His experience also includes defending Benham Constructors in litigation involving the construction of an ammonia plant and several nitric acid plants in Arkansas, where plaintiffs seek hundreds of millions of dollars in damages; defending Trammell Crow Company in a $100 million-plus dispute concerning the construction and sale of commercial real estate properties; and representing midstream energy company SemGroup in litigation against its EPC contractor concerning the construction of multiple pipelines.
Beyond construction, Vance handles high-stakes commercial, intellectual property, antitrust, energy, and business disputes nationwide. Among his recent successes, he helped secure a $341 million jury verdict for Dutch telecommunications company KPN against Samsung, with the jury awarding 100% of the damages sought. That victory was later recognized as an Impact Case of the Year at the 2025 Managing IP Awards.
