Los Angeles Daily Journal Names Michael Adamson and Kalpana Srinivasan Among the Top 100 Lawyers in California

The Los Angeles Daily Journal has named Partner Michael Adamson and co-Managing Partner Kalpana Srinivasan among the Top 100 Lawyers in California for 2025. The annual list of top lawyers and legal counsel recognizes “California’s most influential attorneys.” Both Adamson and Srinivasan have scored several recent litigation wins in California and beyond and have served as leaders on their respective litigation teams and sought-after legal counsel to their clients.

Michael Adamson

Michael helped secure a historic deal, pending final court approval, requiring AI company Anthropic to pay $1.5 billion to a class of rightsholders whose books were downloaded by Anthropic from pirated databases. Michael previously secured more than $330 million in a confidential arbitration for a client in the renewable energy industry. The litigation proceeded from demand to hearing in just 60 days. Also, in 2024, Michael secured an eight-figure settlement for a class of policyholders who alleged breach-of-contract claims against PHL Variable Insurance Company. In addition, in a suit drawing national attention, Michael represents pro bono a putative class of hundreds of disabled students and their families alleging widespread violations of students’ rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and the U.S. Constitution.

Kalpana Srinivasan

Named 2024 Attorney of the Year by The Recorder, Kalpana Srinivasan achieved the following results for her clients in 2024 and 2025: a $65.7 million jury verdict for Paltalk after a patent trial against Cisco; a courtroom victory after 3 weeks of trial in the NFL Sunday Ticket Antitrust Litigation, with a jury finding the NFL engaged in a conspiracy and violated the antitrust laws through its Sunday Ticket offering; securing full dismissal of all claims against Focus Financial Partners – which partners with various independent, wealth management firms — in multiple lawsuits brought by partner KSFB; final approval of a $21 million settlement for a class of higher education authors on claims that publisher Cengage breached its implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing related to their contracts for royalties from their works; and final approval of a $32 million deal to resolve claims from a class of indirect purchasers of amateur telescopes impacted by a conspiracy to fix prices and allocate markets for telescopes sold to consumers in the US.  During this year, Ms. Srinivasan also led the firm in pursuing landmark litigation in connection with an executive order issued by the administration.
