Partner Mark Wawro Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Six partners from Susman Godfrey’s Houston office have been recognized in the 2026 Texas Legal Awards, with partner Mark Wawro named one of just five recipients of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition, five Susman Godfrey lawyers have been named finalists across some of the program’s most competitive individual categories. Presented annually by Texas Lawyer, the awards recognize attorneys whose work has made an extraordinary impact on the legal profession and the communities they serve. Winners will be announced at the 2026 Texas Legal Awards ceremony on September 30 at the Arts District Mansion in Dallas, where Texas Lawyer will celebrate the attorneys and law firms whose accomplishments have distinguished them among the very best in Texas.
A legendary trial lawyer whose courtroom successes have helped shape the firm’s reputation for trial excellence, Wawro joins an elite group of attorneys selected to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring a career defined by exceptional advocacy, leadership, and enduring contributions to the legal profession.
In addition to Wawro’s Lifetime Achievement honor, the following Susman Godfrey lawyers have been named finalists:
- Justin Nelson – Attorney of the Year
- Geoffrey Harrison – Energy Attorney of the Year
- Joe Grinstein – Intellectual Property Attorney of the Year
- Meg Griffith – Pro Bono Attorney of the Year
- Krisina Zuñiga – Mentor of the Year
The firm’s six recognitions reflect the depth and diversity of Susman Godfrey’s Texas trial practice. From landmark commercial litigation and intellectual property disputes to energy litigation, mentorship, and pro bono service, the honors recognize lawyers whose work is shaping both the profession and the communities they serve.
