LOS ANGELES (June 5, 2015) — Three associates with boutique litigation firm Susman Godfrey have been selected to the 2015 Southern California Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers: Amanda Bonn, Bryan Caforio and Oleg Elkhunovich.
Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state under the age of 40, with less than 10 years of practice, are selected by the Super Lawyers research team to receive this honor. Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, rates outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area.
Bonn, Caforio and Elkhunovich have each been named to the list every year since 2013. Bonn has represented plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes commercial disputes in a wide range of practice areas, including patent and intellectual property, antitrust, securities, class action, employment discrimination and wage-and-hour matters. A graduate of UCLA and Stanford Law School, Bonn clerked for the Honorable Dean D. Pregerson on the United States District Court for the Central District of California before joining Susman Godfrey in 2010.
Caforio has successfully represented plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts and in arbitration proceedings across the country. From insurance coverage disputes and employment-related claims to antitrust, trade secret and environmental contamination, Caforio has handled a wide range of commercial litigation. Prior to joining Susman Godfrey, Caforio clerked for the Honorable Sidney R. Thomas on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a graduate UCLA and Yale Law School.
A graduate of Yale University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Elkhunovich clerked for the Honorable Anthony J. Scirica on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit before joining Susman Godfrey in 2010. Since then, he has worked on a number of high-profile cases representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide array of practice areas, including intellectual property, class action, contract, fraud and bankruptcy-related litigation.
Three of Susman Godfrey’s Los Angeles partners were previously named to the 2015 Southern California Super Lawyers list in February: Marc M. Seltzer, Steven G. Sklaver and Kathryn P. Hoek.
