Susman Godfrey associate Omar Ochoa has been named an honoree by the American Antitrust Institute as part of the 2016 Antirust Enforcement Awards. Recognized for “Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement by a Young Lawyer” for his exceptional work on In Re Automotive Parts Antitrust Litigation, Mr. Ochoa has taken on many important tasks that have helped the class to obtain more than $650 million in settlements to date.
Los Angeles partner Marc Seltzer who leads the firm’s efforts on the case said, “Omar has shown extraordinary skill and leadership ability in this exceptionally complex litigation and we are all very proud of his accomplishments.”
In addition to Ochoa’s recognition, Susman Godfrey will be honored at the same ceremony with the award for “Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement in Private Law Practice” for the firm’s work on In re Municipal Derivatives Antitrust Litigation. The Susman Godfrey team includes Bill Carmody, Marc Seltzer, Arun Subramanian and Seth Ard. A total of over $220 million dollars in settlements have been achieved on behalf of the class, including over $100 million in 2015 and 2016. Susman Godfrey will receive this award together with our firms’ co-lead counsel, Boies, Schiller & Flexner LLP and Hausfield LLP.
