Susman Godfrey Honored at American Lawyer Awards

Susman Godfrey has been named Law Firm of the Year by the American Lawyer as part of its annual industry awards. The firm shares this honor with Jenner & Block, Perkins Coie, Wilmer & Hale (all firms that have successfully challenged unconstitutional executive orders issued by the administration). The award also recognized Munger, Tolles & Olson (Susman Godfrey’s outside counsel in the Executive Order litigation) and Williams & Connolly and Cooley, Clement & Murphy (which represent other targeted firms). The award highlights the winning firms’ commitment to their clients, belief in the rule of law, and pursuit of excellence on behalf of something larger than themselves.

In addition, SG Los Angeles partner Jesse-Justin Cuevas was recognized with the award for Young Lawyer of the Year – Beyond Practice for her tireless efforts to make the legal profession and Susman Godfrey a more supportive and inclusive place to practice. This includes creating and co-chairing Susman Godfrey’s firmwide associate mentoring program, co-developing and co-chairing the Susman Godfrey Prize, and co-chairing the Steering Committee for Just The Beginning’s Los Angeles Summer Legal Institute (a pipeline organization that works to illuminate the path to law school and a successful legal career). She is also a Director and 9th Circuit Representative of the Federal Bar Association’s Younger Lawyers Division and the Co-Chair of the Lawyer Representatives to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference for the Central District of California.
