Susman Godfrey Named to The National Law Journal’s Inaugural List of ‘America’s Elite Trial Lawyers’

Susman Godfrey has been named to The National Law Journal’s “America’s Elite Trial Lawyers” list.

The first-ever list represents “those law firms that are on the cutting edge of plaintiffs-side work in the United States and that have achieved exemplary results for their clients,” The National Law Journal wrote. Competition was fierce and the selection process was difficult, the publication added.

To be considered for the list, law firms had to have scored at least one significant plaintiffs win between Jan. 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014 in conjunction with an impressive track record of wins within the past three to five years.

Susman Godfrey scored numerous significant plaintiffs wins in that timeframe, against such opponents as Toyota, Morgan Stanley, AT&T and Korean Airlines. The firm made history in March 2013 in Animal Science Products, Inc. v. Hebei Welcome Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., securing a $162.3 million verdict in the first-ever case where Chinese companies were sued and found liable under U.S. antitrust law. A few months later, Susman Godfrey achieved a $1.6 billion settlement against Toyota Motor Corp. on behalf of 22 million current and former Toyota owners.

Susman Godfrey’s inclusion among “America’s Elite Trial Lawyers” comes just months after the firm’s recognition on The National Law Journal’s “Plaintiffs Hot List,” released in March.
