The Hollywood Reporter has named Los Angeles partner Kalpana Srinivasan among the 100 “Entertainment Power Lawyers” for 2017. This 11th annual Hollywood Reporter list describes the honorees as being the most influential lawyers in entertainment and media, spotlighting the distinguished attorneys behind the year’s biggest deals, major litigation and other areas of entertainment.
In recognizing Srinivasan, The Hollywood Reporter noted her huge litigation win for 1970’s rock group, The Turtles, in their copyright class action against Sirius XM. In this matter, Flo & Eddie Inc. v. Sirius XM Radio Inc, Srinivasan, along with co-counsel, helped broker a deal valued at up to $99 million on behalf of The Turtles and other owners of pre-1972 sound recordings.
This recognition by The Hollywood Reporter comes on the heels of Srinivasan being named a “California Lawyer of the Year” by Los Angeles legal publication, The Daily Journal, as well as receiving The Trailblazer Award by The South Asian Bar Association for her many legal successes in the past year.
