Susman Godfrey Co-Managing Partner Kalpana Srinivasan has been named as one of three finalists for 2024 Attorney of the Year and Partner Nick Spear was selected as one of the Recorder’s Lawyers on the Fast Track.
Kalpana Srinivasan led Susman Godfrey to its most profitable year ever in 2023 as the firm’s co-managing partner. At the same time, she scored courtroom victories including an arbitration award of $160 million for Black Knight based on former customer PennyMac’s misuse of confidential information following a multi-month proceeding; a first-of-its-kind dismissal of the Federal Trade Commission’s antitrust challenge to Intercontinental Exchange, Inc.’s (ICE) proposed $11+ billion acquisition of Black Knight, Inc.; and resolution on the brink of trial for Caltech’s seminal Wi-Fi patents against Samsung with the parties reaching a settlement.
Nick Spear litigates high stakes matters across the nation. Spear has been at the forefront of protecting policyholders from improper insurance charges and has helped recover hundreds of millions in settlements for plaintiffs in insurance class actions. Spear also litigates cases at the forefront of law and technology, including representing the lead plaintiffs in unregistered cryptocurrency securities class actions, Yale University in a complex trade secrets case, and a class of victims of sex trafficking and child pornography in Jane Doe v. Mindgeek USA Inc.
Attorney of the Year winner will be announced, and Fast Track honorees will be recognized, during The Recorder’s California Legal Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles on October 15th.
