Susman Godfrey Secures $65.7 Million for Paltalk in Patent Infringement Case Against Cisco Systems

Susman Godfrey LLP announced it has won a $65.7 million jury verdict after a four-day trial on behalf of Paltalk Holdings, a global communications software innovator, in a patent infringement lawsuit against Cisco Systems in the U.S District Court for the Western District of Texas.

Paltalk initially filed the lawsuit in 2021 based on infringement of its ‘858 Patent, which relates to hybrid audio servers, by Cisco’s Webex products.

“We are thrilled to have achieved this result for Paltalk, our client of nearly 20 years.  We appreciate the jury and court’s careful consideration of this case,” said Paltalk’s counsel, Max Tribble and Kalpana Srinivasan. Susman Godfrey partner Ryan Caughey and associate Amber Magee also tried the case along with Waco-based Mark D. Siegmund of Cherry Johnson Siegmund James PLLC. Matt Boles of Legal Media Inc. provided graphics support.

The case is Paltalk Holdings Inc. v. Cisco Systems Inc., case number 6:21-cv-00757, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
