‘Grit, Grace and Gratitude’: Susman Godfrey Partner Laranda Walker Profiled by Law.com

Texas Partner Laranda Walker has been profiled by Law.com about navigating her unique path to partner at Susman Godfrey.

In the feature story, Laranda, who is the firm’s first black female partner and member of the executive committee, talks to ALM’s Ross Todd about rising from Staff Attorney to Associate to Partner at the firm (the only partner that has done so in the firm’s history), her history as a first-generation graduate, how she got her foot in the door at Susman Godfrey, Susman Godfrey’s unwavering support through the unexpected loss of her husband, and the importance of taking advantage of opportunities.

Laranda is currently a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts across the United States. In the past year Laranda has helped secure a $20 million jury verdict for Houston-based Linde Engineering in a major construction dispute with Crestwood Midstream; served as counsel to Live Nation, defending the entertainment company in litigation arising from the 2021 Astroworld Music Festival; and litigated the $1.6 billion dollar defamation lawsuit against Fox News on behalf of Dominion Voting Systems.
