Joe Grinstein and Krisina Zuñiga Win Top Honors at the 2026 Texas Legal Awards

Susman Godfrey partners Joe Grinstein and Krisina Zuñiga have been named Intellectual Property Attorney of the Year and Mentor of the Year, respectively, at Texas Lawyer’s 2026 Texas Legal Awards. The Houston-based partners were honored at the September 30 ceremony at the Arts District Mansion in Dallas.

Grinstein represents clients in complex patent, trade secret, and technology-related disputes nationwide. In March 2026, he helped secure a $175 million jury verdict for HouseCanary against Amrock, handling the technical aspects of the trial, including cross-examinations of Amrock’s lead technical expert and examinations of both sides’ computer forensic experts. In June, he secured a victory for Atlas Global Technologies, successfully defending a $37.5 million patent infringement verdict before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Zuñiga’s Mentor of the Year honor recognizes her commitment to supporting the next generation of lawyers. A co-chair of Susman Godfrey’s Diversity Committee, past president of the Houston Young Lawyers Association, and current treasurer of the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston, she has helped advance initiatives supporting young lawyers at Susman Godfrey and in the broader Houston legal community. Zuniga has also served on the firm’s Mentoring Committee for the past six years.

Presented annually by Texas Lawyer, the Texas Legal Awards celebrate attorneys whose achievements and service have made a significant impact on the profession and their communities. Grinstein’s and Zuñiga’s wins highlight Susman Godfrey’s strength in the courtroom and its commitment to developing future leaders in the law.
