The Los Angeles Daily Journal has named Los Angeles Partner Jesse-Justin Cuevas and co-Managing Partner Kalpana Srinivasan among the “Top Women Lawyers in California” for 2025. The annual list of Top Women Lawyers in California highlights “women lawyers who have made a difference to their clients, their firms, their profession.” The women named to the list are some of the most accomplished attorneys in California, representing excellence in private practice, corporate counsel, and public interest law.
Ms. Cuevas has led efforts on some of the nation’s most hotly followed litigation. She recently served as special litigation counsel to 100-year-old Zachry Industrial in bankruptcy litigation related to a $10+ billion liquefied natural gas export in Sabine Pass, Texas, that Golden Pass and its project owners, ExxonMobil and QatarEnergy, contracted for Zachry to build. Cuevas’s work over a few short months in the adversary proceeding and a related contested matter in the core Chapter 11 proceeding helped pave the way for Zachry to exit bankruptcy earlier this year. Cuevas also serves as counsel to named plaintiffs in a putative consumer fraud class action against Nestlé Waters North America for mislabeling. Cuevas and her team have helped plaintiffs survive five dispositive motions, including Nestlé’s third motion for summary judgment which the Court decided in late 2024 after Cuevas argued on behalf of plaintiffs at the summary judgment hearing. In 2024, Srinivasan served as lead counsel and first chair trial lawyer in multiple trials and arbitrations across the nation. Her work included securing a $65.7 million jury verdict for plaintiff Paltalk after a patent trial against Cisco, \and a courtroom victory after 3 weeks of trial in the NFL Sunday Ticket Antitrust Litigation, with a jury finding the NFL engaged in a conspiracy and violated the antitrust laws through its Sunday Ticket offering. Since 2020, she has also served as firmwide co-managing partner of Susman Godfrey. Read Srinivasan’s profile in Daily Journal here (subscription required).
