The Los Angeles Daily Journal has named Los Angeles partner, Marc Seltzer, among the 30 Top Plaintiffs Lawyers in California in 2018. This is the second time Seltzer has received this honor, having also been recognized in 2016.
This is the fourth annual Daily Journal list of top plaintiffs’ lawyers in California, and it highlights “attorneys making a difference far beyond the lives of their clients.” The lawyers named to the list “used their legal skills to forge real and lasting change” and “exemplify the positive force the legal industry can have on people’s lives and society.”
In recognizing Seltzer, the Daily Journal noted his work, with his co-lead counsel, in securing several multi-million dollar settlements for the plaintiffs he has represented in recent years. These include:
- settlements totaling over a billion dollars in the landmark national class action case involving price-fixing by manufacturers of auto parts, In Re: Auto Parts Antitrust Litigation,
- settlements totaling over $590 million in a national antitrust case targeting the world’s largest banks over allegations of rigging LIBOR in In re: Libor-based Financial Instruments Antitrust Litigation, and
- settlements totaling $40 million in the securities class action, In re: Allergan Inc. Proxy Violation Derivatives Litigation.
