Associates from Susman Godfrey’s LA office, Meng Xi and Glenn Bridgman have been named California Trailblazers by legal publication The Recorder in its inaugural honoring of the top lawyers in California. The Recorder’s list recognizes lawyers who make their mark in the various aspects of litigation work. Of the hundreds of nominees submitted, those selected are lawyers who share a common thread of “deep passion and perseverance in pursuit of their respective missions, having received remarkable success along the way.”
With a robust patent litigation practice, Meng Xi has represented well-known, industry-leading clients such as Nasdaq, Bitdefender, Rockstar Consortium, Personalized Media Communications, and Sentius in cutting edge patent litigation. Xi has a 100% success record on Alice motions for plaintiffs and defendants, in both district and appellate courts. She was recently named President of the Judge Paul R. Michel Intellectual Property American Inn of Court in Los Angeles. Xi was also named a Next Generation Woman Leader in Tech Law by The Recorder in 2018, and selected a Rising Star by Thomson Reuters in 2018 and 2019.
Glenn Bridgman has practiced broad-impact litigation for plaintiffs and defendants in various areas including trademark disputes, securities fraud, and breach of contract matters. His standout work in insurance litigation helped secure a $91.25 million all-cash, non-reversionary settlement for insurance policy owners in 37 Besen Parkway LLC v. John Hancock Life Insurance Co.; the presiding judge in that action observed that the “the result achieved on behalf of the class here is quite extraordinary.” He is currently litigating several follow-on cases to this matter, including pending actions against AXA Equitable, Voya, Lincoln, and other insurance carriers.
Partner Kalpana Srinivasan rounds out the group of California Trailblazers. In 2018, Srinivasan secured a verdict valued at $740 million for real estate analytics company, HouseCanary, which was the fourth highest verdict in the country in 2018. Most recently she was named by the court to lead a class of millions of plaintiffs in the antitrust and patent infringement action, In re: Qualcomm Patent Licensing Antitrust Litigation.
