Susman Godfrey co-managing partner Kalpana Srinivasan has been honored with the 2026 Justice in Action Award by the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF), one of the nation’s leading civil rights organizations. Srinivasan was recognized at AALDEF’s Annual Gala and Justice in Action Awards on April 23 at Chelsea Piers in New York City, where she was honored alongside actor, writer, and comedian Bowen Yang. Presented annually, AALDEF’s Justice in Action Award honors leaders whose work reflects an enduring commitment to civil rights, equity, and public service.

At Susman Godfrey, Srinivasan has built a career defined by excellence in high-stakes litigation and principled leadership. As co-managing partner, she has helped lead Susman Godfrey—an AmLaw 100 firm—through one of the most successful periods in its history while continuing to try to verdict and win some of the country’s most consequential commercial cases. She has also helped lead the firm’s pursuit of landmark litigation challenging a high-profile executive order.

Srinivasan’s impact extends beyond the courtroom, including through her leadership in mentoring and sponsoring the next generation of lawyers and her active engagement with organizations dedicated to broadening access to the profession, such as the South Asian Bar Association, NAPABA, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, Stanford Law School’s Rhode Center on the Legal Profession and the Center for Women in Law.
