Los Angeles Partner Krysta Pachman has been named one of the Top Woman Lawyers in California by the Daily Journal. This list of elite female lawyers includes some of the most accomplished attorneys in California, representing excellence in private practice, corporate counsel and public interest law.
Having a penchant for class action litigation, in 2021 Pachman was appointed by U.S. District Judge J. Michelle Childs to serve on the leadership team of the nationally followed Blackbaud data breach class action. Pachman is one of the youngest attorneys ever appointed to a co-lead counsel role in an MDL.
Also in 2021, Pachman filed lawsuits against PornHub parent company, MindGeek, and Reddit alleging the companies have violated federal sex trafficking and child pornography laws by knowingly posting, enabling the posting of and profiting from thousands of pornographic videos featuring persons under the age of 18.
Pachman has an established history of securing significant class action wins for her clients. In the landmark copyright action, Ferrick, et al. v. Spotify USA, Pachman helped secure a settlement valued at more than $100 million, including a $43.45 million cash settlement fund and an agreement to pay future royalties to settle a class-action lawsuit with Spotify brought on behalf of music copyright owners. Pachman also helped secure a $40 million settlement for a class of derivatives traders in Timber Hill v. Pershing Square Capital Management, L.P., et al; and played a key role in Schulein, et al. v. Petroleum Development Corp. representing plaintiffs in a securities case that settled for $37.5 million.
