New York Law Journal Names Stephen Shackelford Among Finalists for Attorney of the Year and Gloria Park a Rising Star in 2023

New York Law Journal has named Partner Stephen Shackelford as one of three finalists for 2023 Attorney of the Year. In addition, the New York-based legal publication named Associate Gloria Park a winner in its Rising Star category.

Stephen Shackelford has secured several landmark wins in the past 12 months working with his Susman Godfrey colleagues, most notably a historic $787.5 million settlement to resolve Dominion Voting Systems’ massive defamation lawsuit against Fox News Network and Fox Corporation. This followed Shackelford’s extensive pro bono work defending the 2020 presidential election against all manner of legal challenges in the second half of 2020. In addition, Shackelford has represented hedge fund founder Louis Bacon for several years in his lawsuit against Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard, ultimately resulting in a judgment of over $203 million earlier this year. Shackelford has also secured major wins for clients such as General Electric, Q Investments, and LRN Corporation.

Gloria Park plays a critical role in every matter she takes on. Recent victories include securing a favorable post-trial settlement for defendant EnerVest after a jury awarded the plaintiff a fraction of damages sought in a dispute involving breach of contract; achieving favorable results for SpaceTime3D in its patent litigation against Samsung and LG (notably, Park conducted important discovery in both English and Korean); and securing a favorable settlement for Insignia Systems in its antitrust case against industry leader, News Corp.

Attorney of the Year winner will be announced, and Rising Star honorees will be recognized, during New York Law Journal’s Professional Excellence Award Ceremony  in New York City on October 4th.
